Growing up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s I was honestly spoiled when it comes to media. I grew up playing video games with friends, watching some great television shows, and enjoying many films with my friends and family. Some of my favorite tv shows growing up were Scooby Doo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Batman Beyond. I enjoyed playing many video games, mostly first person shooters such as Halo and Call of Duty. I did not become too interested in film or books until an older age. I would definitely consider myself more of a digital person. For example, even if I have to read a book I would much rather listen to an audiobook on it instead of actually reading the physical text. However, this being said I do appreciate a good physical copy of a book or board game sometimes. There are not necessarily any forms of media that I dislike, although I am not a fan of contemporary pop music at the time. I became interested in this class as I am a Media Studies minor and I feel that this class will give me the basic knowledge needed to produce various types of media in the future.
